Xbox Game Pass: 10 Hidden Gems You Must Play
9. Vampyr
If you ever wondered what it was like to be a vampire in early 1900s London, then Vampyr is for you. If you also ever wondered what it was like to be a doctor during the Spanish Flu pandemic, Vampyr is also for you.
You take control of Doctor Jonathan Reid, a renowned doctor and specialist in blood transfusion, who just so happens to also be a vampire. Pair that with a Gothic, early 20th century London and that is precisely where all the charm in Vampyr resides.
The moral dilemma of being a doctor while also needing blood to survive is at the core of this game, and every choice you make has weight. You can be a moral doctor and save all those you come in contact with, or you can choose to be an all-powerful vampire, using the hospital you work at as your own playground.
The combat can vary drastically depending on how you decide to play. If you go the moral route then you'll be under-levelled and under-powered, as your strength ties to how many people you consume. In that case combat feels more like Dark Souls for beginners, as it's not nearly as unforgiving.
There's no better place to get your fill of the occult and Gothic London all wrapped up in a macabre bow than Vampyr.
