Xbox One: 10 Biggest Mistakes Microsoft Have Made So Far

4. Play Anywhere & Timed Exclusivity

In some ways, Microsoft's 'Play Anywhere' scheme is brilliant. However, if absolutely anyone can play Microsoft's exclusives on PC, why even bother having an Xbox One at all?

This is a problem that only truly affects console players, as all PC owners simply reap the benefits of being able to play even more games. The problem with the 'Play Anywhere' system is that it makes the small amount of exclusives that the Xbox One has not even technically 'exclusive'.

Exclusivity seems to be a general problem with Microsoft anyway, with titles like Rise of the Tomb Raider, Dead Rising 4 and the upcoming PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds all receiving timed exclusivity. The main issue here is that having games that are only temporarily exclusive seems like a bit of a waste of time for all involved.

Microsoft seems to think that having a game briefly show up on their console for a year before being ported is an advantage, which doesn't make sense when you consider how much they probably spend to get these deals in place.

People will wait for what is guaranteed to be a cheaper version of the game with all bugs and glitches ironed out - chances are with all DLC included too.
