Xbox One: 10 Reasons It's Already Lost The Console War

4. Voice Control

Xbox One Much like the insistence of the Kinect, I'm really not at all interested in the voice control options that the Xbox One has on offer; I'm not lazy enough that I'm bothered about pressing buttons on my controller to activate functions, and frankly, I just feel a bit silly talking to my games console. Though it is relatively impressive that the Kinect microphone can receive inputs even when the console is turned off, I'm curious as to how this is going to work, especially given the tendency for people to screw around with it. Imagine you're playing a game on your Xbox One, and then a buddy or annoying sibling walks in and shouts, "Xbox Off". Your game is shut down and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it; how are Microsoft going to protect against things like this? Though the Kinect sensor can be turned off in the settings, this isn't really a solution; short of having sophisticated voice-recognition software that can discern between players, I have no idea how they can combat this.
