Xbox One: 10 Reasons Why You Should Be Buying It

7. Kinect's Potential, Finally Realised

Xbox One Kinect When the Kinect was first announced, it felt like damn exciting stuff. It was almost like having magic powers; you waved your hand, and your TV did things. You had the power. Then it came out and... well, it was a bit rubbish. It required you to have a space the size of a grand ballroom in order to operate properly, was more than a bit picky about where you positioned yourself, and - no matter what - could very rarely discern my strong English Geordie accent as I tried to order it around. Admittedly, asking it for a cup of tea probably wasn't going to get much of a response, but I still persevere. It'll give in eventually. The new Kinect - which I shall name Kinectier - is an upgraded version of the original camera that can track everything down to the pimples on your nose. Requiring much less space, and being far more intuitive and actually very clever, the Kinectier streamlines the foundations of the original Kinect and is set to be an integral part of the Xbox One experience. It was originally meant to be a forced part of the Xbox One, but you can now turn it off if you so wish. Every console will still come with the camera, though, so you may as well just whack it down next to your telly for a bit. Perhaps our dream of being wizards with dominion over all TV functions will finally come true, huh? It's probably the closest we'll ever get to using the force. I just hope Microsoft actually develops some quality games for the thing this time around - there's been literally nothing out for the Kinect for ages.
