Xbox One: 10 Upcoming Exclusive Games That'll Make You Buy It

8. Below

Since Dark Souls took off and proved you could marry harsh, old-school gameplay tropes with vast expansive worlds all ripe for exploration, you've seen its influence in everything from Watch Dogs "Your city has been invaded!" multiplayer, to (actually really good) rip-off Lords of the Fallen - and here in this top-down RPG of sorts, Below. Immediately you're either going to love or hate the abstracted zoomed-out view everything has, but others will appreciate the immediate sensation of isolation that settles in when you're just one spec amongst a gigantic landscape. So far there's not been loads shown for this outside of a few gameplay demos (but nothing you can play at home yet), but with such a devoted art aesthetic and sense of charm all round, its take on the 'Souls formula' i.e. putting you in a world devoid of hand-holding and letting you prod and poke around unabated - in a retro 2D look to boot - is extremely appealing.
