Xbox One: 5 Brilliant Uses Beyond Gaming

4. Streaming

Before the eighth generation, it was tedious for gamers to share their live gameplay with the world - the process required extra hardware, which including either a capture card or a flown-blown PC. But now that the eighth generation is upon us, new technologies have risen and are providing alternatives that have allowed gamers to do such a thing via a single device: introducing the Xbox One and its built-in streaming feature. We already know that the Xbox One's "Upload Studio" app automatically records the last five minutes of gameplay and enables the user to edit and upload the footage to the internet. However, sometime in 2014, the app will also allow users to stream live footage to the ever popular Twitch as part of an agreement with Microsoft. Although the wait might seem a little disappointing, it's still better than nothing.
