Xbox One: 8 2018 Leaks & Rumors You Need To Know About

3. Betas For Sea Of Thieves & Crackdown 3 Are On The Way

Sea of Thieves and Crackdown 3 - both games slated to fill the gaping hole in first-party exclusives the Xbox One is starved of - will reportedly open their doors for pre-launch betas before hitting the high street.

For Rare's swashbuckling adventure on the high seas, it's to be expected, given the impending March launch, but what of Crackdown 3?

Microsoft's still running with a 2018 date, but without a specific release window, there's no telling as to what shape it's currently sitting in.

Of the two, it's the latter that would benefit the most from an early look-see. A new batch of footage unveiled at last year's E3 (welcome to the fold, Mr Crews) is the last we saw of the sandbox shooter, but as with past showcases, nothing in regards to the game's structure or narrative was touched upon.

For now, we can only be safe in the knowledge that the oft-delayed sequel will have heaps of wanton destruction, but we're far from knowing how everything will slot together. True or not, a beta is exactly what Crackdown 3 needs to get the hype train going again.
