Xbox One: 8 2018 Leaks & Rumors You Need To Know About
2. Fable 4 Is In Development
Lionhead Studios is no longer among the living, but there's no way in hell Microsoft is going to let its most successful franchise die with it.
Following the now-canned Fable Legends, Lionhead would, presumably, have cracked on with a sequel to Fable III. Alas, that never came to be, but now, it appears as if Microsoft has not only chosen a new curator for the series, but the project is already well underway.
According to the rumour, Albion's return is codenamed 'Wisdom' and is in the hands of a UK-based studio. Studio Goko's Electric Square was originally suspected, as it's known to be working on something for Microsoft, but a sly Tweet from former Lionhead employee Don Williamson specifies that the studio was nowhere near big enough to take on a "task of that magnitude."
Playground Games is, though, and known to already be hard at work on a triple-A RPG for Xbox One. Oh, and it's based in the UK.
A now-deleted Tweet from Williamson appears to all but confirm the most unlikely pairing since chalk and cheese, too.
Mmm ok, having no inside information, I totally know who's building Fable 4 now. Interesting choice…
You're right, Williamson, it doesn't get more interesting than that.
