1. Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic

If it wasn't for the existence of Star Wars: Battlefield II, Knights of The Old Republic would go down in history with no resistance as the best Star Wars game to have ever been made. It has won award after award including various Game of The Year awards. Other than Halo, Knights of the Old Republic is one of the most significant releases to come from the original Xbox and is a game many fans turn to when describing the great times they had with the system.

There are so many things that make KOTOR as critically acclaimed as it is, but it's the story that allows the game to shine. It takes place 4,000 years before the rise of the Galactic Empire and therefore isn't reliant on the movies like many Star Wars games out there. It had its own plot and own characters and built upon the now non-canon extended universe. It is also home to one of the best and most shocking plot twists in video game history.

Your actions in the game would ultimately decide whether you would align yourself with the light or dark side of the Force. It felt like one of the first times you were truly able to feel either option's side, and embrace their power in a video game.

If only one game from this list were to ever grace the Xbox One via backwards compatibility, it should be KOTOR. There are certainly fans of Star Wars out there who haven't had the pleasure of playing this game. Not to mention just video game fans in general who haven't. Its inclusion would allow gamers who never had the chance or were simply too young to finally play what is considered by many one of the best video games of all time.
