Xbox One Vs PS4: Head To Head In 10 Key Areas

6. Networking

Downloads 600x300 Setting up networks for both consoles is as easy as eating Thanksgiving pie; it€™s actually embedded into the initial system set-up. All you do is enter your account information or set everything up if you€™re new to either PSN or XBL. The Xbox One and Playstation 4 both have wholly unnecessary features that use their respective camera devices to lock an account to your face, but it€™s technologically neat nonetheless. What really separates these two apart is just how drastically different the download speeds seemingly are. On my Playstation 4, I downloaded the initial 600MB update so ridiculously fast that I was unable to comprehend what the heck was even transpiring. I even downloaded retail games from the Playstation Store within 30 minutes, and these are 30-50GB sized games we€™re talking about here. It seriously felt like I had been teleported into the future where download and upload speeds are meaningless terms. The Xbox One doesn€™t have terrible download speeds, but they are essentially no different than what I was getting with my 360. It€™s an odd situation that I can€™t technically explain, but that€™s my honest to God experience so far.
