Xbox One X: 9 Enhanced Games That Make It Worth Buying
4. Rise Of The Tomb Raider
Xbox One X enhancements: 4K, HDR, 60FPS
A welcome and worthy follow-up to Crystal Dynamics' triumphant 2013 reboot, Lara's second coming in her new and improved form is an important mention. Rise of the Tomb Raider, like any iteration of Crysis or the Witcher before it, is a power-hungry piece of digital entertainment that demands top-end gaming rigs to run at max settings on PC.
For that reason, Rise is a good tool to use as a technical benchmark test of hardware power, but the all-important question is: how well does it run on Xbox One X?
Gorgeous. Stunning. Beautiful. Attach whatever positive descriptor you wish to the beginning of this paragraph, invading long lost tombs has never looked - or sounded - this good on a console before.
Do note that, like FFXV, Rise's performance options are carried over from the PS4 Pro, but there are some neat additions that aren't available to others.
That includes HDR (prepare for sensory overload) and Dolby Atmos Surround Sound integration. If you thought Rise already oozed atmosphere out of every orifice, wait until those two are running in tandem.
A true benchmark for the Xbox One X's impressive infrastructure.
