Xbox One X: 9 Enhanced Games That Make It Worth Buying
3. Call Of Duty: WWII
Xbox One X enhancements: 4K, HDR
Multi-platform, third-party titles are never going to receive the same kind of tailored upgrade that Microsoft-backed exclusives will. For that reason, it's good practice to keep expectations a smidgen lower for the likes of Call of Duty: WWII.
But don't dismiss Activision's latest instalment just yet (it's present for a reason) Sledgehammer's dedicated a commendable amount of attention to the period shooter for its Xbox One X outing.
Side by side with Sony's PS4 Pro, both it and the One X versions count 4K resolution and crisper textures as talking points, but as with FFXV, the latter wins out with objectively more power.
Native - not dynamic - 4K, along with HDR support to make all the colourful mayhem pop, elevates the WWII shooter to a whole new level of fidelity. PC, of course, comes out on top overall, but the discrepencies are so infinitesimal that you'd have to be purposefully on the lookout for them to notice.
Tl;dr: chalk this up as another big selling point for the One X.
