Xbox One X: 9 Ways Microsoft Can Avoid A Total Failure
7. Make It Appealing To 1080p Users
Although the marketing for Microsoft's console so far has been on how revolutionary 4K technology is, the reality is that very few players actually own the hardware capable of getting the most out of the Xbox One X's improved graphical fidelity.
As a result, there needs to be more to the console that makes it a worthwhile purchase for players who only own high-definition TV sets.
Indeed, Microsoft have touted the addition of 'Supersampling' to upgrade older titles, but the PS4 Pro also offers upgrades to the experience for players who only have 1080p televisions, and to be honest, they're barely noticeable.
So, if Microsoft came out and announced that their new machine would radically improve the gaming experience even for people without an expensive 4K TV, they'd already be doing one better than Sony.
If they could guarantee improved performance across the board, say maybe 60fps as the norm going forward, then the Xbox One X would be an appealing device for every player, rather than just the privileged few who can afford the shiniest new toys.
