Xbox One X: 9 Ways Microsoft Can Avoid A Total Failure
4. Dedicated Third-Party Support
While jaw-dropping first-party games are essential in making the Xbox One X an appealing console, it's going to either live or die on the support it receives from third-party developers.
Like the PS4 Pro, if nobody cares enough to put the effort into making higher quality games for the X then there's going to be no point in picking the console up.
Microsoft haven't announced how well games that don't receive dedicated support will run on its new machine, but finding a way to give players a big boost to performance no matter what they're playing would be enough to make upgrading to the console worthwhile.
Fortunately it seems as though Microsoft is aware of the power third-party studios hold, and in both of their E3 presentations have put the focus on big names like Todd Howard talking about how much they're looking forward to supporting the console. How substantial this support will be however is yet to be seen.
