Although Microsoft have dipped their toes into the VR space by partnering with Oculus a few years ago, virtual reality still isn't readily available on any Xbox console.

With everyone else getting in on virtual reality and creating their own dedicated systems, it would make sense for Microsoft to future-proof the X so it can easily accept VR implementation going forward.

The company doesn't have to get in on the action yet, but if Microsoft announced that they're working on a VR system and that it would be compatible with the Xbox One X, it could give the console a purpose that extends beyond games.

Although they might not be obvious choices, titles like Minecraft VR could be used to shift machines in droves for the company, and at the very least, would keep the console relevant as the industry evolves in the years to come.
