Xbox Project Scorpio Reveal - 10 Things We Learned

9. All Existing Games On Xbox One & 360 Will Run Better

Speaking of playing older games, everything you put into the Scorpio will immediately run better. This was already the case on Xbox One, as the example Digital Foundry give comes from Call of Duty 2 auto-upscaling to 60fps, rather than the 30 it rendered at back in 2005.

This is down to any given developer aiming for a target frame rate or resolution when putting their game together, that a system then shoots for as you play. Frame rate drops and general slowdown are then (usually) a case of the console/graphics card not matching up - something the Scorpio won't have a problem with, thanks to allowing entire gigs of processing power to stay freed up.

What this literally means, is any given game is free to run unlocked at its maximum frame rate, resolution and overall performance. Pop anything in from the original Gears trilogy to Rise of the Tomb Raider to Burnout Paradise and the console will take care of the rest, outputting a higher quality experience, and encouraging you to re-play all your favourites at better performance speeds.
