Xbox Scarlett: Every Major Rumour & Leak You Need To Know

7. Premium "Xbox Anaconda" Is Basically A High-End Gaming PC

The high-end Scarlett model has been codenamed "Anaconda" and will basically be this generation's equivalent to the Xbox One X: a machine aimed at high-performance 4K gaming at 60 FPS for the enthusiast with more money to throw around.

Though both the Xbox One and PS4 more closely resembled conventional gaming PCs than prior-gen consoles with their x86 architecture, numerous reports have suggested that Anaconda will hew even closer to the typical design of a home desktop.

In addition to touting a beefy 16GB of GDDR6 RAM, Anaconda will apparently be the first games console to entirely separate out its GPU (graphics) and CPU (processor) components due to the complexity of its rumoured Arcturus 12 GPU.

This is certainly easy to believe as it's firmly in line with Microsoft's clear desire to blur the line between consoles and PCs while delivering an unprecedented level of performance for a console.

How it'll stack up against the PS5 remains to be seen, though as with the previous generation, there's unlikely to be a massive technical chasm between the two.

Despite the inconsistent reports about the Lockhart's disc drive (or lack thereof), all leaks say the same thing about Anaconda: it will definitely have a disc drive (thankfully).
