Tolkien's world has never looked as good as it does on Series X. Following on from 2014's Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, Shadow of War continues to tale of the ranger Talion and elf Lord Celebrimbor, whose spirit shares Talion's body. As Talion, you strive to forge a new Ring of Power to amass forces to take on Sauron.

Even at release, there were notable differences between the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro versions of this title, particularly when it came to texture resolution and draw distances.

The aforementioned 'high velocity architecture' of the Series S/X systems coupled with the bump in sheer processing power the Series X in particular affords, the visual and performance benefits are all nudged just a bit further.

Another advantage is with regards not only to the improved loading times, but the frame rate as well. Overall stability improvements the new systems provide make for a vastly improved experience with the game, which was prone on occasion, like any large open world RPG, to stutters or bugs, especially in larger set piece moments.

Playing on Series S/X effectively eliminates these performance issues.
