6. Fallout 3

The performance improvements afforded by the Series X means that even infamously buggy masterpieces like Fallout 3 have a new lease on life, running better than ever.

Its doubtless a contentious claim to make that Fallout 3 is the best entry in the series, but if you load it up on a Series X and have a go, you might just find your time a compelling case.

The first entry in the series after Bethesda acquired the franchise, Fallout 3 is set in the Capital Wasteland of post-nuclear Washington D.C. and surrounding environs, following you, a vault dweller, suddenly thrust into the wasteland after your father (voiced by Liam Neeson) leaves the vault to continue his work.

For all its merits, Fallout 3 was a bit janky back in the day, with a penchant for bugs and the occasional crash. Though not devastating, such things did damped the experience.

The Series S/X performance boosts rectifies most of these issues, allowing you the chance to have a full and enjoyable time with this excellent game, minus those minor irritations (and a stable 60fps to boot).
