Yu-Gi-Oh: 10 Most Powerful Blue-Eyes Cards

3. Sage With Eyes Of Blue

Sage with Eyes of Blue is the glue that holds the Blue-Eyes deck together. Most Blue-Eyes variants cheat or special summon their big dragons into play, they don't really rely on normal summoning or tributing monsters for their bigger dragons.

Sage is the decks most important normal summon that, upon normal summon allows us to search our deck for a level one light tuner monster.

The common targets are the 'eggs' of the deck, namely the White Stone of Legend or Ancients - both of these play a critical role in the deck. If we already have or don't need either of the stones it allows us to search Effect Veiler, one of the most versatile 'handtraps' in the game. It also allows us to play spicy one-offs like The Fabled Catsith.

Sage's second ability is a call back to the original way of summoning a Blue-Eyes, namely tributing two monsters. Sage allows you to tribute an effect monster from your side of the field and discard Sage with Eyes of Blue from your hand in order to special summon any Blue-Eyes monster from your deck.

Like most Blue-Eyes support you're not limited to the normal Blue-Eyes White Dragon, you can also summon Dragon Spirit of White, a level eight dragon monster that counts as a Blue-Eyes but also has the added bonus of destroying spells and traps.

Sage with Eyes of Blue adds consistency to the deck, allows you to actually use your normal summon and his drawback of having 0 attack is mitigated when you can link summon him into Linkuriboh or Relinquished Anima.

Sage often appears as a three-of in all pure builds and his stock has recently risen due to its favourable interaction with Crystron Halqifibrax. A must have for any Blue-Eyes enthusiast.
