It's amazing what gamers - given a bunch of footage and a bit of time to mull everything over and discuss - can work out and discover about a game. At this point, footage from an unreleased game is more like a puzzle for online communities to solve.

But one thing fans couldn't figure out following 2016's E3 was the mysterious floating island seen in the background of a bunch of Breath Of The Wild footage.

At last, it seems, we have our answer. The middle of the trailer shows a bird-like creature (could this be one of the Wind Waker's Rito?) ascending into the sky, which is then revealed to contain an enormous airship in the shape of a bird. The ship's wings are outstretched and its feet drag behind it.

What the hell is this thing? A circular, claw-like design on its chest suggests it may be possible to board it at some point. If the world really is as big as Nintendo claims, maybe players can use it at some point to get around quickly?
