9. WAY More Enemy Variety
So many Bokoblins, so little time.
There have been some very memorable Zelda enemies in the past, some of them even giving us nightmares as kids. Each level had a unique and varied selection specially adapted to the environment, which not only offered variety and challenge, it also helped create the illusion of a living, breathing world.
Whilst there were some great enemies in BOTW, there was a lot of copying and pasting, often giving varying enemy types different paint jobs.
"Hey look! A brown and a blue Bokoblin together!"
Divine Beasts were infected with parasitic purplish blobs topped off by a single eye that could be dispatched with a single arrow. Then you reached the boss and that was it.
Even the older Zelda games had multiple enemy types, getting tougher as you went on.
The teaser showed a terrifying undead creature with glaring red eyes, so that's a promising start. Now let's get those really, really weird designs drawn up and start scaring kids again.
