Formerly a slick ninja in games gone by, the Impa of Breath of the Wild is a wise old sage.

She doesn't get much cutscene time and is forever bound to rest in Kakariko Village, but Impa is the first major character to elaborate on the notion of rediscovering and living up to the in-world 'Legend of Zelda', as well as answering some of your questions as to what happened in the 100 years you were in stasis.

She helpfully guides Link and walks the line between exposition and guiding hand - ostensibly being the Hyrulean incarnation of Hidemaro Fujibayashi, the game's director.
