10 Horror Movie Characters Who Deserve Their Own Spin-Off

8. Quint - Jaws

Jaws Quint

Part of what made Jaws so terrifying back in 1975 through to the modern day was the uncertainty surrounding the shark. Nobody knew why it was attacking the beach on Amity Island, nobody knew what motivated it, and when or if it would leave. However, the beast wasn't the only mysterious character in the film.

As the small town was being terrorised by the great white, and with hunting it and killing it seemingly the only option, in stepped the mysterious and eccentric local shark hunter, Quint (Robert Shaw).

In the movie, as in the source material, the man came out of nowhere and made it his mission to rid the town of the fish - for a nominal fee, of course - and with some damn good stories to tell.

There would be no more after Quint's battle with the shark in the film, as it cost him his life, while Brody and Hooper (Roy Scheider and Richard Dreyfuss) survived, but a series exploring and detailing Quint's dealings with other leviathans across the ocean would be awesome, and one heck of a spectacle.

Quint was the most intriguing character of Jaws, and further stories revolving around him would surely have been a better idea than the woeful sequels that came instead.
