10 Horror Movie Characters Who Deserve Their Own Spin-Off

After something of a renaissance for the Scream franchise in 2022 and 2023, the momentum seems to have ground to a halt with the underwhelming Scream 7. Whether this is the end of the series on the big screen or not, there is the potential for its first spin-off moving forward.

Within the new cast of characters for the 2022 requel were Mindy and Chad Meeks-Martin (Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding), Randy's (Jamie Kennedy) niece and nephew, and they, along with Courteney Cox's Gale Weathers, were the only ones to have appeared in all three of the most recent Scream movies.

At the end of Scream 7, during the credits, came the beginning of their career as a brother/sister journalist team, with Mindy in front of the camera and Chad behind it. This could open the door perfectly for a series following their pursuit and coverage of different slasher stories.

Mindy's horror know-how paired with Chad's more grounded approach has made them great additions to the franchise and certainly deserving of a story of their own. They have proved over the last three films that they have the plot armour to take on more killers at the very least.
