10 Horror Movie Sequels You Probably Didn't Know Existed
2. From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money
Aside from Kill Bill Vol 2, and the upcoming follow-up to Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood, the latter of which won't even see him return to the director's chair, Quentin Tarantino has never really been affiliated with sequels.
However, one film with the man's name attached, though as a writer rather than a director, did see a very quietly released sequel that didn't exactly make much of an impact. Three years after From Dusk Till Dawn came From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money.
Though Tarantino neither wrote nor directed the sequel, staying on only as an executive producer, it was his idea for the direction of the story that ultimately evolved into the film. Like some others on this list, as a direct-to-DVD outing, Texas Blood Money was always going to struggle, particularly without the likes of George Clooney or Salma Hayek on the cover to sell it.
At the same time, a prequel was also produced, which was Robert Rodriguez's idea for the direction of the franchise, From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter. It's an odd setup for a franchise, and based on the reception to the near-simultaneous release of the sequel and prequel, one that won't be imitated any time soon.
