6. V/H/S/Halloween
The V/H/S franchise has enjoyed quite the resurgence in recent years as an annual Spooky Season mainstay on streaming service Shudder, and the 2025 edition is an appropriately All Hallows' Eve-themed anthology called V/H/S/Halloween.
Though little is known about the six shorts included in this year's edition, we do know that they're being directed by Bryan M. Ferguson (Pumpkin Guts), Casper Kelly (Too Many Cooks), Micheline Pitt-Norman & R.H. Norman (Grummy), Alex Ross Perry (Her Smell), Paco Plaza (REC), and Anna Zlokovic (Appendage).
That's quite the diverse collection of filmmakers, and considering the title, it's fair to assume there's going to be more than a few playful homages to John Carpenter's genre-defining slasher Halloween.
While short anthologies have a tendency to be inconsistent quality-wise, V/H/S has nevertheless served as a riveting showcase for rising genre filmmakers to deliver fun, effed-up horror shorts, and so there's no doubt that V/H/S/Halloween will once again deliver the goods.
V/H/S/Halloween releases on Shudder on October 3.
