10 Amazing Noughties Albums No One Ever Talks About
6. Franz Ferdinand - You Could Have It So Much Better
You Could Have It So Much Better is, quite simply, a good album. But despite heavy praise from critics, like many sophomore albums, it lives in the shadow somewhat of the self-titled debut. Franz Ferdinand had set the bar very high for themselves with their first release, and although they didn't win a Mercury Award with their second effort, they certainly delivered. With You Could Have It So Much Better, Franz retain their unique art-pop sound (and idiosyncratic weirdness), and with the indie classic Do You Want To and the sinister and erratic Well That Was Easy as just two of the album's top moments, they prove that they were always capable of matching the quality of their debut album and then some.
