10 Best Hip-Hop Producers Of The 2010s

1. Kanye West

Kanye West is a pop music enigma. The most volatile and unpredictable artist of his generation, but easily one of the most talented, regardless of genre. He made his mark in the early 2000s as a producer for Jay-Z before releasing a string of commercially successful and critically acclaimed albums throughout the decade, until in 2009 the infamous Taylor Swift incident put Kanye into a self-imposed.

"My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" was probably the best comeback statement in music history, frequently cited as not only one of the best albums of the decade, but one of the best of all time. His production style evolved from him on his own with a keyboard and sampler to being the head of a collaborative effort. A CEO style of production where he was in complete artistic and creative control whilst bringing in others to help fulfil his vision.

"Yeezus followed in 2013 and was popular music's sharpest left turn since Radiohead released "Kid A." Then, "The Life of Pablo" merged almost every sound Kanye had ever recorded into one messy but immensely expansive and enjoyable album.

"Ye" was his most introspective and low key album but still has moments of genuine soul and beauty littered throughout it. Just a week later he released "Kids See Ghosts," a collaborative album with Kid Cudi. It's hardly a hip hop album, and more a psychedelic, trippy and otherworldly musical experience inside the two artists' minds.

"Jesus is King" is probably Kanye's weakest album yet. But it still remains sonically captivating for the most part and retains Kanye's specific flair for vocal arrangements.

Kanye is already a legend of the game unquestionably. This last decade has been a whirlwind one for him, but his artistic output has been almost untouchable.
