10 Best Solo Albums From Former Rock Band Members

1. Blizzard Of Ozz - Ozzy Osbourne

On 29 September 1978, Black Sabbath released Never Say Die!, which would turn out to be their final album featuring Ozzy Osbourne on vocals for 35 years.

Osbourne got sacked from the band in April 1979 for doing too many drugs, which is like being fired as a dolphin for getting too wet. The singer thought he was finished, but little did he know that he was just getting started.

One year on, Osbourne put out his first of many solo albums, the fantastically-titled Blizzard of Ozz. With guitarist Randy Rhoads at his side, and amazing songs like Mr. Crowley, Goodbye to Romance, and Crazy Train in the chamber, Birmingham's favourite son became a legend all over again, as his former band began their decline into obscurity.

The Prince of Darkness has put out many great solo efforts in the years since 1980, but Blizzard of Ozz is the one that started it all and, even after all this time, it still holds up as a masterpiece of dark-tinged hair metal.

Most blizzards should be avoided if possible, but this is one you should go out of your way to get caught up in.
