10 Clues My Chemical Romance Are Gearing Up To Release A New Album

1. They've Already Given Us New Music

While the music that plays in the background of the tantalising teaser vid ‘An Offering…’ hasn’t been released on streaming services and is by no means a guarantee of a new record, it’s a pretty damn big hint. That’s definitely Gerard chanting towards the end of the track, and it only makes sense that the rest of the band provided the instrumentation.

The sinister track is reminiscent of I Brought You My Bullets... opener 'Romance', leading some to speculate that this will be the first track of a new MCR record. Moreover, the eerie instrumental tones certainly fit in with descriptions of the cancelled Paper Kingdom sessions, which reportedly had a hint of Radiohead to them. The gothic folk vibes of 'An Offering...' definitely presents MCR in a darker and weirder light than we have ever seen them in before.

Glimpses of new music are heard in 'A summoning...', too, and while some of these are references to previous songs (the bass line in the party scene recalls that of 'Vampires Will Never Hurt You', while 'Helena' is given a lofty instrumental overture), other track teases seem to be brand new entirely. Are these glimpses of new songs, or interludes on a new record? The hushed lyrical refrain at the end of 'An Offering...' is even given a more intense overhaul at the end of 'A summoning...', suggesting that these might be only snippets of a yet-to-be-unveiled full new track.

Given that MCR has already released brand-new music, it is only fair to think that a new record will follow soon.

Get your eyeliner ready, and Killjoys - make some noise.
