10 Hard Rock Bands That Need To Be In The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

5. T. Rex

Say what you want to about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...they at least have kept a diverse assortment of artists among their ranks. Ever since opening in the late '80s, the alumni of the Hall have spanned the limits of rock and have even stretched the boundaries of what constitutes inclusions, with rappers like the Beastie Boys and N.W.A making their way in. If you want to get technical though, it's only fair to include the glittery side of rock as well.

Granted, it's not like T. Rex had the most glowing of receptions in the United States, being only known for a handful of tunes like Get It On and 20th Century Boy. At the same time, are we just going to forget how pivotal Marc Bolan was to the creation of the glam rock aesthetic? Much like his colleague David Bowie, Bolan's experimentation with glitter became the foundation for what would become glam rock, including many artists that are in the Hall today.

Even if some of their songs could fall a bit on the cheesy side, acts like Def Leppard have gone on record for how much of an impact they have had on their musical foundation. Then again, since they appeared on the ballot for the past handful of years, maybe it's time that the king of the glam rock movement finally gets his due.
