10 More Hard Rock Music Artists Who Released Two Great Albums In 2 Consecutive Years
8. The Runaways - The Runaways & Queens Of Noise
In terms of all-female rock bands from the 70s, there weren't many better than The Runaways.
This is due to both the popularity and talent of the band and the fact that the music industry was even more misogynistic back in those days.
Home to future legends Micki Steele, Cherie Currie, and Joan Jett, The Runaways produced four studio albums in the space of just under three years.
Their 1976 debut, which was self-titled, contained the mega-hit Cherry Bomb, which is probably the only Runaways song you've ever heard.
Thanks a lot, Guardians of the Galaxy!
However, don't sleep on the song You Drive Me Wild or their version of The Velvet Underground's Rock and Roll either. They're both great.
One year later in 1977, Queens of Noise proved that the band were... well, the Queens of Noise. Clue's in the title.
This album was seen as a huge step forward for the band in terms of musical complexity and song variation, as it included at least one song that didn't sound like it was about to blow your face off.
These two albums both rule, but we could have easily picked any combination of The Runaways' records for this entry.
