10 Perfect Rock Songs On Terrible Albums

1. Under Pressure - Queen

When rock has died out in the distant future, Queen is one of the few bands who's music can be considered timeless. Although they may have been confined to the technology at the time, songs like Bohemian Rhapsody are still superhuman feats of musicianship and will never fail to spark excitement in anyone who listens to it. Out of the entire Queen catalog though, no album sounds more of its time than Hot Space.

Looking to ride the wave of pop pioneered by Michael Jackson, this pseudo dance record feels a lot closer to '80s cheese than anything else in their catalog. And as the finale of the record, we are treated with one of the greatest duets of all time with Under Pressure, pitting Freddie Mercury and David Bowie against one another in one of the greatest rock songs of all time.

Since this was the only major single that was released from this album, this song makes the rest of the record sound absolutely terrible by comparison, with production that's far better and feeling like a true collaboration between two artists in their prime. Considering how many duds are on the track listing here, Under Pressure doesn't just not belong on this record. This is the kind of song that you throw on a record and then churn out a bunch of filler for it because nothing else you make will manage to top it.
