10 Rock Bands With Amazing Live Shows
7. Bruce Springsteen
From the moment that he took his first breath, Bruce Springsteen had rock and roll flowing through his veins. Along with having a way with words, the Boss has turned into the ultimate road dog, taking his E Street Band to every venue that will have them. One thing that you have to remember about a Bruce Springsteen show though: you're never going to be getting the same set twice.
Following in the footsteps of Bob Dylan, Springsteen always understood the power of the rock and roll story, and half of the beauty of his shows are the little asides that he says in between every one of his songs. For some of the impatient though, it makes sense why you'd want to hear some rock and roll instead of TED Talks with the Boss, but these stories give you a much different perspective on what Bruce is going to be playing.
The greatest example of this is on his live record before going into the song the River, where Bruce talks about the complicated relationship he had with his father and what happened when he managed to dodge the draft during the Vietnam era and choosing a life of rock and roll instead. The songs may have been moving enough, but hearing them with something like this beforehand tells you more about the man at the heart of the song. You're not just hearing Bruce's words...you're hearing how it's moving his soul when he sings those words.
