10 Rock Bands You Forgot Were GREAT

1. Kasabian

Kasabian haven't released a record since 2017, and although they were a pretty consistent fixture at UK music festivals the following year, there was a time when fans heard very little from them.

In 2020 the news that lead singer Tom Meighan would no longer be a member of the band (following his conviction for assault) helped explain the period of inactivity. But, this left fans alienated from a band they once held so dear. Since then we haven't heard much from them, until their current tour.

Although it can't be denied Meighan's vocals added to the distinctive ambience of the Kasabian back catalogue, it was Serge Pizzorno who was the real mastermind behind the bands sound. Blending classic indie rock with hip-hop and electronic influences, they made an instant impression on the British music scene with the release of their first record back in 2004.

Sergio Pizzorno might have ditched his signature mod hair cut, along with his former frontman, but early reactions to him as the new head of the band seem positive.

What better way to get hyped for the new incarnation of Kasabian, then revisiting those early albums that formed the soundtrack to the 2000s and early 2010s.
