10 Types Of Fan Every Concert-Goer Knows (And Hates)
6. Singles Fans
Flip to the other side of the hipster spectrum and you'll meet the singles fans. These are people who have bought a ticket because they "Like, totally love their first song", despite that first song being the third but most successful single on the second album. How was I able to come to the wildly stereotyping conclusion that the three ladies in the above picture are such people? Easy, I Googled "Kings Of Leon fans". Having been to several Kings Of Leon shows myself, I have first hand experience of such people...as have the band. They reached the point in their 2009 tour where they'd passive-aggressively mock the crowd for singing louder to their major hits at the time than their older stuff. Kings Of Leon can be a bit squiffy. Singles fans will likely stand around and feign interest in the entire set, occasionally bopping away to a couple of songs until the moment arrives when the chart topper arrives. You will immediately recognise their presence, as loud screeches will fill the air, followed by an enormous amount of glow sticks, the origin of which know one is sure of. They are also spotted as the couples who immediately start chewing at each others faces once "their song" has begun. Horrendous.
