11 Great Things In Metal This Week (11th Dec)
4. The Parasite Syndicate - "Breathe You In" Single
Nottinghamshire-based thrashers The Parasite Syndicate wowed extreme metal fanatics on Tuesday as they unleashed the second single from their upcoming debut album.
"Breathe You In" is (aptly) a track of breathtaking intensity and hunger, roaring to life with powerhouse riffs and even harsher screams from singer Rich Donohue.
Donohue's proficiency as an untamable screamer is only made all the more stunning once the song kicks it into the chorus, which switches into full metalcore-style melody mode, soaring high while the rest of the gritty, riff-filled track lingers in a mire of equally brilliant dirt and abrasiveness.
Combine all this with a dreamlike, intergalactic video and you have a single that is practically guaranteed to get the hype machine working overtime for The Parasite Syndicate's self-titled studio debut (which is, by the way, set to come kicking and screaming into the world in February).
