50 Definitive Beastie Boys Songs

41. Lee Majors Come Again

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mqxs8xXig7U Off their latest LP, The Hot Sauce Committee Part Two, this song proves that the Beasties haven't lost their punk sensibilities after releasing two albums without any punk songs, as well as after the addition of some grey hairs. The song is mainly driven by MCA's fuzzy bass and features verses by all three of the guys as well as a catchy vintage Beastie Boys chorus. Stand out line: "Oh, yeah, did I spill the beans? I see your grandpa in Apple Bottom jeans/A Von Dutch cap, Ugg boots to match, the word gets out, you can't take it back"

40. B Boys Makin' With the Freak Freak

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4-F6QFcNxQ On first listen, the third song off Ill Communication is probably one of the weirder ones you'll ever hear. It has a classic Beastie Boys beat and a really great bassline by MCA on the upright bass. This song also has what is probably the greatest mid-song sample of all time. The main hook comes from the K-Rob and Rammellzee song "Beat Bop". Stand out line: "I'm working on my driving 'cause I'm going pro/I've got the funky-fly golf gear from head to toe"

39. No Sleep till Brooklyn

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07Y0cy-nvAg This Spoof on metal comes off as a cross between Motorhead and Run-DMC. In other words, it's awesome. With the same cocky attitude as "Fight For Your Right", this is the Beastie Boys' first of what would be many odes to Brooklyn. Masterminded by Rick Rubin with lead guitar by Slayer's Kerry King, "No Sleep till Brooklyn" is still as much fun today as it was almost 30 years ago. Stand out line: "Foot on the pedal, never ever false metal/Engine running hotter than a boiling kettle"
