8 Famous Songs That Have The Absolute Dumbest Sequels

1. Bobby "Boris" Pickett - "The Monster Mash"

When Pickett released this novelty song in 1962, I'm sure he had no idea how much of a graveyard smash it would become. But that doesn't mean he didn't recognize the opportunity he had to squeeze a few more songs out the broad concept.

In the span of two decades, Boris really goes on monster overload, cashing in on the novelty as frequently and as flailingly as possible, shoving monsters into every topic possible. After the obvious connection with Halloween, Pickett stretched into Christmas for "Monster's Holiday," then threw them all into a swimming pool for "Monster Swim," before reviving the whole mess two decades later for the insult to hip-hop known as "Monster Rap."
