10 Best Terry Pratchett Books
2. Good Omens
As the only book from this list not set in the Discworld, Good Omens' reputation has recently boosted thanks to the Amazon Prime series based off the book. Interestingly, the cast for this series was discussed with Pratchett before his death in 2015, and Amazon upheld his wishes by keeping the cast unchanged from Pratchett's request.
Published in 1990 and co-written by Neil Gaiman, Good Omens sees the angel, Aziraphale, and the demon, Crowley, working together in cohesive chaos to save life on earth from the child Anti-Christ. However, their errors are abruptly highlighted, when it turns out they have been persuading and influencing the wrong child, mistakenly thinking he was the Anti-Christ. Keeping their mission secret from both heaven and hell, Aziraphale and Crowley scout the earth looking for the true Anti-Christ before it's too late, as he gradually comes to realise his power.
This intelligently structured and perfectly designed plot makes this comedy tinged horror fantasy a timeless classic from the Pratchett (and Gaiman) catalogue. If you're a first time Terry Pratchett reader, then this certainly a good place to start.
