12 Most Controversial Joe Rogan Experience Guests

2. Ted Nugent

Ted Nugent is a Classic Rock icon. With such tracks as ‘Cat Scratch Fever’ and ‘Stranglehold,’ Nugent was once regarded as one of the best guitarists in the world. As well as being a revered rock legend, he was also one of the first rock stars to eschew drinking and drugs, arguably making him an early pioneer of the straight edge movement.

Since the early 90s however, Nugent has become more known for his political views. Once claiming that ‘all men are not created equal,’ after the release of Nelson Mandela, Nugent has been deemed racist for many of his beliefs. Nugent is also a strong advocate of the right to bear arms and is a board member of the National Rifle Association.

Appearing on the Joe Rogan Experience only the once, in 2018, The Nuge discussed his gun rights advocacy, and his opinions of media personalities Piers Morgan and Michael Moore, referring to the latter, ‘a sub-human mongrel.’

Unsurprisingly, the highlight of the episode revolved around Nugent’s stance on gun control. Essentially, ‘The Motor City Madman’ felt that when being criticised for his views on gun ownership, people would ignore the facts. Proudly stating that he had been with guns since he could walk, Nugent states that anti-gunner have their dream (of a gun-free zone), yet many of these gun-free zones have been the venues for many school shootings - whereas at NRA rallies, where there are more gun bearers and zero shootings.
