12 Most Controversial Joe Rogan Experience Guests

6. Gavin McInnes

Canadian writer and far-right political commentator, Gavin McInnes, began his career as a co-founder of Vice (originally titled ‘The Voice of Montreal’) with friends Shane Smith and Suroosh Alvi. Leaving Vice in 2008 due to creative differences, McInnes went on to start new ventures in advertising, as well as creating stories which attempted to push the envelope - one story revolved around him allegedly eating a bowl of urine-soaked cornflakes.

By the mid-2010s, McInnes released an essay justifying transphobia, and since then has become more ingrained in alt-right rhetoric as well as presenting himself as a provocative contrarian. McInnes came under severe scrutiny after his ‘men’s organisation’ Proud Boys were taken to court over acts of violence during a meeting held at a Republican Club.

Appearing twice on the show, Gavin was outspoken in his support of Donald Trump, as well as his views regarding race, sexuality, masculinity and feminism.
