10 Early Predictions For Premier League 2020-21 Season
2. Jose Mourinho Won't Finish The Season At Tottenham
The Special One became a Premier League legend for what he achieved with Chelsea during his first stint with the club between 2004 and 2007, but his return to the league in 2013 hasn't seen him quite reach those same heights. Though he captured the title with Chelsea in 2015, he was sacked by the club just months later.
His days with Manchester United saw no Premier League success, and with Tottenham, there is a long way to go before he can mount a legitimate challenge for the title. With the club aiming for higher, and the fans unhappy with the team's style of play, Mourinho's time at Spurs could be coming to a close.
So far, Mourinho has spent £20 million on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton, but the Spurs budget is not quite what the Special One is used to. There may not be room for much more activity in the transfer window, meaning Mourinho will have to rely on the squad he has around him, rather throwing money at the problem like he's done in the past.
With a seemingly short window to bring success to a club that has won just one major trophy since 1999, the manager appears to be on borrowed time in North London.
