10 NFL 2015 Match-Ups With Personal Matters On The Line
2. The Fiercest Rivalry: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens
When: Friday October 2, 2015 (1:25am GMT); Monday December 27, 2015 (1:30am GMT)
No rivalry even comes close to intensity this battle ensues in today’s NFL. To say the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers dislike one another would be a severe understatement. But the neutrals win, because we get to see them take each other on twice a year.
The Ravens and Steelers are two teams known for their tough, hard-hitting defensive lines, which fuels the physicality of these games and can lead to some fairly nasty bust ups on the field. The fans of both teams also add to the intense atmosphere. To give you a flavour, back in 2000 a small group Steeler fans actually hung a dead raven with a noose around its neck from the stands enticing the traveling Ravens supporters. No words can begin to describe that act of sheer brutality.
The history books point in favour of the Steelers who have beaten their rivals 25-times to the Ravens’ 18. However, recent results show the Ravens have the upper hand, especially after nabbing a fairly impressive victory over the Steelers in the Wild Card game last season.
Expect fireworks, blood to be spilled and few broken bones. It's not going to be pretty.
