Despite Louis Saha's considerable Premier League pedigree, his signing raised a few eyebrows in the summer of 2014. The 34 year old had built a career on lightning pace, a quickness which had depleted during his previous spell at Everton. Martin O'Neill's decision to sign the Frenchman was akin to buying a gun without any bullets. Saha made just 11 league appearances in his half season at the Stadium of Light, and failed to score a single goal in any competition. His sole highlight was getting Chico Flores sent off in a 2-2 draw with Swansea.
