10 U-23 Players To Keep An Eye On During The World Cup
3. Raheem Sterling (ENGLAND)
With nearly 200 Premier League appearances and almost 40 England caps under his belt, it's easy to forget that Raheem Sterling is still just 23 years old. The Man City winger excelled in his first international tournament, the 2014 World Cup, but was notably singled out for struggling during England's catastrophic Euro 2016.
Sterling will be hoping for a turn in fortunes this summer to match his outstanding domestic form. The winger has been one of City's best players this season, scoring a whopping 18 league goals, as well as contributing with 11 assists. He's still missed some great chances and had a few poor performances, but he represents one of England's best shots of success in Russia.
In a youthful squad, Sterling is actually one of the Three Lions' most experienced players, and fans will be hoping he can take his stunning form for City onto the international stage. He's yet to score at a major tournament but has been playing some outstanding football of late and could forge a powerful partnership with Spurs' striker Harry Kane.
