8 Most In-Form Football Managers In The World Right Now
6. Rolando Maran
In June 2012, Maran was appointed as the head coach of Catania where he led the team to a record breaking season, accruing 56 points and finishing in 8th place, and achieving more home wins in a single season than ever before.
Unfortunately he could not maintain this run and was dismissed in October 2013 with the team in the relegation zone. Maran was then re-hired in January 2014 by Catania, and subsequently fired again in April 2014 with the team now bottom of the league.
After his poor run at Catania, Maran was appointed to lead A.C. Chievo Verona in October 2014 but after three and a half years was sacked in April 2018.
Maran was appointed at the helm of Cagliari in June of 2018. His first season was hardly record breaking as he led the team to only one position better in the league, from 16th to 15th.
However, it is the teams performance in the current season which has garnered interest in the Italian manager. Cagliari sit in 6th position having had away wins at Napoli and Atlanta, and went on a 13 game unbeaten run which was ended by Lazio.
