Hull 2-3 Man Utd: Premier League Player Ratings

Ashley Young: Played in fluid fashion, switching places with Welbeck and Januzaj, although without hurting Hull. Had every right to go in on McGregor for the 50-50 ball. Put in the cross that led to United's third goal. Subbed. 5.5/10.

Wayne Rooney: Our man of the match. Lost his marker Chester for the opening goal. Cut a frustrated figure for a while thereafter and needlessly fouled Huddlestone after 15 minutes. Assist for Smalling goal. Superb strike brought United level. Dropped deeper second half when Fletcher subbed. From this berth he influenced the third Red Devils goal, starting the move off and then put Chester under pressure. Booked for dissent. 8.5/10. Danny Welbeck: Didn't come off the post quickly enough for Hull goal. Good hold up play led to Rooney equalizer. Never really threatened himself. Must find the net to consistent to keep Robin van Persie out the team when he returns to fitness. 5.5/10. Subs: Adnan Januzaj: Came on after 18 minutes as Rafael injured. Booked for naïve foul on Elmohamady. Learning bad habits as youngster goes down every time under the slightest contact. 4/10. Javier Hernandez: Got half an hour in place of Fletcher, but few sniffs. 4/10. Michael Carrick: Given 15 minutes in place of Young on return from an Achilles problem. Rating N/A.
