Transfer Deadline Day: Every Premier League Club's Best Signing Of The Window
14. Crystal Palace - Gary Cahill
With Wilfried Zaha clearly unhappy with the club and Aaron Wan-Bissaka leaving for Manchester United earlier in the window, Crystal Palace look to be the biggest losers of the transfer window this season. However, that doesn't mean that they have had nothing to cheer about. Palace have signed Gary Cahill from Chelsea on a free transfer and it looks to be a fantastic piece of business for Roy Hodgson.
Having worked under Hodgson while he was England manager, even picking up the captain's armband, Cahill will be no stranger to the style of play and should slot into the team seamlessly. Alongside that, Cahill brings a winning mentality brought about by multiple title-winning seasons with Chelsea, a mindset that Palace have struggled to maintain over their full campaigns.
Palace fans haven't had too much to be happy about this window but Cahill looks to be the bright spot. Alongside incoming players James McCarthy and Victor Camarasa, the squad seems to be just as strong as it was before losing Wan-Bissaka. The real issue for Palace will occur in January, when Zaha may force a move to another club.
